One thing we've learned from Covid-19 quarantine? How important it is to take some time for yourself.

Let's face it: we've spent some pajamas days, some bad hair days, some lazy days and some moody days too.

Around us, only gloomy couples, sad vendors and worried dear ones made us think it was time to do our best to stay safe and making everyone feeling a little better.

That's it: we couldn't just stay there and let this pandemic took away all the beauty and happiness we vowed to bring in people's lives. This is just not fair.

But staying positive, smiling, being optimistic it's not just something that happens...It's an aware choice we have to be willing to do day by day.

In order to do so, we decided to start taking good care of others by taking good care of ourselves first... and we hope some of our advice would be useful for you as well!

Follow a routine

Taking care of ourselves starts from within: in a situation in which pretty much everything looks extraordinary, having a daily routine and doing some repetitive tasks, could help putting some order the chaos and making your days....flow. We are still committed to our agenda and, following a good piece of advice from a friend, whenever we are in a bad mood, we behave just like we should go to the studio.

Create something new everyday

No matter if it's a cake, some homemade bread, an origami, a dress, a plan for a future trip, an Excel sheet or planting some seeds: creating something from scratch will do a miracle for your mood and will keep your mind focused for a good while. Find something to be grateful for, everyday

It's the small things that count: a plant that unexpectedly sprouts (we finally found some time to start growing our Bonsai Kit and one out of three trees already sprout, YAY!), homemade pizza, a complete workout... And yes, the best thing of all, spending the quarantine next to your favorite human.

Talk to your partner

The marriage course may be on hold, that's true. Yet, there are many online free resources offering you some good points to start a conversation with your loved one. For example, you can answer to the New York Times' 36 Questions That Lead To Love: a friend of us suggested them, saying that she shared a very emotional moment with her man.

Move

Taking good care of ourselves starts here. Latins said "mens sana in corpore sano" (which literally means a healthy mind inhabits a healthy body): we will close an eye on the fact that we are probably eating better but also more than the necessary, only because we found some time to start a successful workout routine. The app we are LOVING at moment is called Down Dog: it allows us to follow yoga lessons directly from our living room, not only choosing goals, duration and level of the workout but also fancy details such as the amount of instructions given and music. The best thing of all? You won't take the same lesson twice.

Keep planning

We are like athletes at the starting blocks: we are still, in an uncomfortable situation and we can't wait to move... Yet, in these precious, tense and apparently still moments, 80% of the competition is made. The advice we mostly give to our couples is to keep planning: if you need to postpone your wedding date later this year, immediately identify two options (maybe one weekday...) and talk to your team or your wedding planner to better understand how to proceed.
